Spring Break Outreach – Days 3 & 4

Sorry everyone for not posting these updates on time. The last two days were by far the busiest and most taxing. However, the fruit coming from them was amazing! Wednesday started out at St. John’s serving, working and playing with kids much like the last two days.

However, Wednesday evening was a little different. St. John’s gave us no time limit to get out. We got to hang out with most of the women and children till almost 10:00. It was amazing. God truly allowed us to build relationships and bonds with these people. Our departure from St. Johns was somewhat of an emotional one. Watching their little ones and our kids shed tears over leaving was enough to make even me get a little choked up…

Having finished up at St. John’s, we were able to present a need to Pastor Bob Huddleston (CC Sac) to bring some of the women and children to church on Sunday mornings and possibly start a women’s bible study right there at the facility. Also, it was a true blessing to have Calvary Sac open their doors for us to go down and minister right out of the church..

On Thursday, we had the opportunity to minister to a small group of younger children at the Atkinson Group Homes. I can not even begin to express the need that is in this place. Most of the children here have been pretty much disregarded by their families and it was a little more difficult to establish a connection with these children due to the limited amount of time we had… This is a place to be praying about for future outreached for sure…

Just a little personal testimony, the day before we left, I came home from church with a temp of 101. Through much prayer and the hand of God, I woke up Monday morning will no symptoms of anything. It was not until late Thursday afternoon that I really started to feel sick. God is so good, He held off the flu for me for the majority of the outreach!

Thank You all for your support and prayers… It was definitely noticed..

Spring Break Outreach – Day 2

Seeing God work is so awesome… Today started out pretty much the same as yesterday. We came, we cooked, we cleaned we served. All of the kids have done this with a smile on their faces and joy in their hearts.

However, the real blessing came when we had the opportunity to come back in the evening and do our VBS outreach when ALL the children were home. For the most part it was business as usual with the kids; puppets, crafts and resurrection eggs… But when all this was going on, Aimee Palmer volunteered to come and share a message with just the moms at the shelter. The Holy Spirit moved and close to twenty women came to Christ!!

Thank you all for your prayers and support… Please keep us in prayer as we continue in tow more days of outreach…

Spring Break Outreach – Day 1

Today we arrived at St. John’s Women’s and Children’s Center at 10:00 and went straight to work serving. Some of the kids went directly to the kitchen and started helping with the prep for lunch and dinner while others stayed out in the warehouse organizing the clothing donations. Our clowns went immediately to work playing with the kids while some of our older guys played basketball and other games with the kids…

After lunch, we were blessed with the opportunity to do a small VBS with the children. Please continue to pray, as we have run into some resistance from some of the staff regarding how much we are allowed to share with the kids.. Pray that God gives us the wisdom on how to deal with this and still communicate the FULL message of the gospel…

We wound up the day with an awesome opportunity to share the Everything Skit that the kids have worked so very hard on…

Sorry about no pics today… We all seemed to have forgotten our USB cables for our cameras. We will get the pics up online as soon as I can locate one…

Thanks for your continued Prayers! God Bless…
